Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal has expanded his empire with the opening of a new restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. The restaurant, simply named “Shaq’sâ€, promises a unique dining experience.
Shaquille O’Neal, known for his larger-than-life personality both on and off the court, has lent his personal touch to every aspect of the restaurant’s creation. The menu features signature dishes inspired by Shaq’s hometown of Newark, New Jersey, as well as his favourite dishes from around the world.
Menu highlights
Some of the standout menu items include the “Shaq Ride†burger, made with Kobe beef, truffle aioli and a gold-dusted bun, and the “Championship Rings†onion rings, served with a tangy and spicy dipping sauce. The restaurant also offers a selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes, as well as gluten-free options.
Atmosphere
The restaurant’s atmosphere is inspired by Shaq’s love of music and features a state-of-the-art sound system that will play everything from classic hip-hop to contemporary hits. In addition to the dining area, Shaq’s includes a private VIP room and a lounge for after-dinner drinks.

This marks the latest in a long line of business ventures for Shaquille O’Neal, who retired from professional basketball in 2011. He is now a regular analyst on TNT’s basketball coverage, and his business ventures include everything from jewelry to video games.
Future plans
Shaq has already hinted at plans to expand the restaurant chain to more locations, including Miami and Atlanta, and to add a food truck to the mix.
